    • Could be son of Jonathan living in Simsbury or not. There is also an Amos that was born in 1750 in Conneticut. Roswell's first son was named Amos.
      After reviewing some records, Roswell was living in Marlow in 1820. There was an Amos living in Marlow who died 10 Nov 1816. This Amos was born 28 Jan 1737 in New London, Conn the son of Samuel Latimer and Elisabeth Hallum. Amos's death record states that he was formally from New London.
      My theory is when Roswell was living in Marlow his father, Amos, came and lived with him until he died there in 1816. Roswell's first son was named Amos which was common to name your first son after your father.
      If this theory is true, need to find Amos's wife and then see if they are living in Simsbury in 1780 when Roswell was born. The town of Marlow had a population under 600 in 1820 and Roswell's family is the only Latimer's in the 1820 census.
      Amos, Roswell's possible father, was living in Montville, Conneticut in 1810 census. There was a Amos born in Montville was born there 5 dec 1730 son of Jonathan Latimer and Borrodil Denison but he died in 1731.

      Listed as Boswell Lattimer in 1850 Census in Newport, New Hampshire. Place of birth in Conneticut

      Marriage record of Roswell states that he was living in Marlow, New Hampshire, Sally was living in Newport.

      Could be the son of Hallum or Nathan Latimer who were both having childen in 1780 in Lyme. Both of these men are brothers and their parents are Nathan Latimer and Jane Lee.

      Roswell Lattimer served in the War of 1812 from Aug 2, 1813 through Sep 16, 1813 under Sereno Pettibone. He was from New London, Conn and a private. List birth year as 1780 volume 100 page 425. American Genealogical-Biographical Index (AGBI).
