      "In April, 1741, an act incorporating the west end of the town of East Gre
      enwich into a Township, and the same to be distinguished and known by t
      he name of West Greenwich."
      From the papers of Mrs. Dayton Royse(Elmyra McGuire):
      Henry Joslin-May 20, 1743-Will-of W.G.-proved 10-24-1743.
      (1) Farm purchased of John Cory to sons Thomas & Henry.
      (2) Homestead farm to son John
      (3) Outlands & swamps in Coventry & West Greenwich & his part of a sawmi
      ll in Coventry to 3 sons.
      In 1743, Henry Joslin (Sr.) also left each son 1/3 of faming tools and 1
      /3 of outlands and swamp lots in Coventry and West Greenwich, and 1/3 of h
      is part of a sawmill in Coventry. (When & how did Henry Sr. acquire these)

      Holman, Genealogist, of Lexington, MA.-among the Royse papers).
      In the fear of God Amen the twentith day of May in the year of our Lo
      rd AD 1743, I Henery Joslin of West Greenwich in the County of Providen
      ce in the Colony of Rhode Island & yeoman being sick and weak in body b
      ut of parfect mind and thanks be given to God therefore calling to mind t
      he mortality of my body; and knowing that it is appropriate for all men on
      ce to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to s
      ay principally and first of all I give and recommend my sole into the han
      ds of God that gave it and for my body I recommend it to the earth to be b
      uried in a Christian like manner at the descretion of my executrix nothi
      ng doughting of the power of God in the Resurrection and as touching su
      ch worldly estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me with in th
      is life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following maner and f
      orm
      Imprimis I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Joslin my dearly beloved wife o
      ne third part of my moveable Estate and house holds goods after my debts a
      nd funeral charges paid by her freely to enjoy whom I do likewise make a
      nd ordain and constitute my whole and sole executrix of this my last wi
      ll and testament.
      Item I give all my farming tools to my three sons namely Thomas, Henery a
      nd John equally to be divided by my Executrix when they come to the a
      ge of twenty one years but in case either die without issue his pa
      rt to be equally divided between the other two.
      Item I give all the rest and remainder of my moveable Estate to my eight d
      aughters, to be equally divided at the age of eighteen years, namely Eale
      s, Mary, Deliverance, Martha, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Margit, and Marcy a
      nd in case either die without issue then her part to be equally devided am
      ong the rest of my daughters.
      Item I give to my son Thomas Joslin the half of my farm that I purchas
      ed of John Cory lying in West Greenwich at the East end of said farm to h
      im his heirs and assigns for ever and he pay the one half of what the who
      le farm is bankfed for to the Colony when he arrives at the age of Twenty-
      one years, but if he die without issue then his part to be equal devided b
      etween the other two of my sons.
      Item I give the remaining half of the afore said farm to my son Henery Jos
      lin his heirs and assigns by them to be freely enjoyed he paying the one h
      alf of what the whole farm is bankfed to the colony for and in case of h
      is death without issue then to be equally devided among the other t
      wo of my sons.
      Item I give to my son John Joslin all my homested farm to him his heirs a
      nd assigns for ever to be freely possesed and enjoyed when arrives at t
      he age of twenty one years but in case he should die without issue th
      en to be equally devided between the other two of my sons.
